To copy a database:

 

•With the database displayed on the screen, select the File page, then Tools, then Copy

•Select the folder where you want to copy your file to

•Enter a new file name (if you want to change it while copying), then click Save.

Use a copy for a separate purpose

Give a trial copy a distinct name or folder, such as a folder reserved for testing imports. Check the filename and folder shown under Current File before making changes so that you know whether you are editing the working tree or the copy.

A copied database has its own records. Later edits to one database are not automatically applied to the other. Linked media files need separate attention: check that the copy can open them, and use a backup with media when you need to transfer those files too.
