To move a database:

•With the database displayed on the screen, select the File page, then Tools, then Move/Rename

•Select the folder where you want your file moved to.

•If you want to change the file name when you move it, enter the new file name, then click Save. If you just want to move the file but keep the same name, you can just click Save and use the existing name.

To rename a database:

•With the database displayed on the screen, select the File page, then Tools, then Move/Rename

•If you just want to rename the file, just select the same folder.

•Enter the new file name, then click Save.

After moving or renaming

Check the new path on the File page, and use that location when opening the tree again. An older recent-file entry may still refer to the previous location.

Open a few linked media items. Moving the database is not the same as moving every linked photo or document. If a media link is broken, use Fix broken media links after confirming where the media file now resides.

If you want to retain the original working tree, use Copy instead of Move/Rename.
